Politeness Strategies Applied by the Characters of Princess Diaries Movie

This study examines the politeness strategies of characters in Princess Diaries movie. The data were utterances Mia and her grandmother, main analysis is based on Scollon Scollon's theory. As a result, researcher found that Her Grandmother employed two types politeness: involvement independent strategies. used twenty strategies, including four sixteen other hand, fifteen strategies: twelve three may inspire additional researchers to investigate not only but also various films, theories, or methods. Additionally, it hoped research will expand our understanding how linguistic aspects, particularly English, are applied.
